Support groups
provide additional help for patients and families confronted with
life-changing situations due to health problems. Gateway Health
System offers assistance through several support groups, including
the following:
- Gateway
Hospice hosts a Grief Support Group for those
who are trying to cope with the death of a loved one. The support
group is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
The group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from
1 to 2 p.m. in the Tennessee Room of Gateway Medical Center.

- Clarksville
Support Group For Weight
Loss Surgery provides educational and informational
resources for preoperative and postoperative patients. It delivers
optimum weight loss and maintenance guidance along with providing
the techniques and tools to live your life. The support group
meets on the fourth Monday of each month in the Cumberland Room
of Gateway Medical Center from 6-8 p.m. For more information
contact Amy Lawrence at 931-431-3542. *Due to the Memorial Day Holiday there will be no Support Group meeting during the month of May.
- Mended
Hearts, Inc. supports heart
disease and heart surgery patients and their families. The
group meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in Clarksville
Rooms A&B of Gateway Medical Center. For more information,

- Huffers
& Puffers meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday
of every month at 6 p.m. in Clarksville Rooms A&B of Gateway
Medical Center. Whether you or a loved one suffers from Chronic
Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (emphysema,
chronic
bronchitis, chronic
asthma, pneumonia),
you can benefit from this unique and informative group. A variety
of guest speakers will arm us with the power of knowledge and
support to better our quality of life. For information, call

- Clarksville
Ostomy Support is a local support group for people
who have undergone ileostomy,
colostomy,
or urostomy or who suffer form Chrohn's disease or other diseases
of the bowel. Support for Ostomy Patients meets in the Cumberland
Room the third Sunday of the month at 2 p.m. For more information,

- Reach
to Recovery offers support for breast cancer patients
with a visit from a breast
cancer survivor. Individual visits are available or there
is a support group that meets on the third Tuesday of each month
at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library from 5-6

- Look
Good, Feel Better educates women on how to deal with
the physical and emotional effects of cancer treatment. From
hair loss to make-up application, certified cosmetologists will

- Man
to Man offers support for prostate cancer patients
by providing a network of prostate
cancer survivors to answer questions and provide encouragement.

Can Cope is an educational series provided for those
individuals whose lives have been touched by cancer. For more

- Attention
Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) Support Group
meets in Clarksville Rooms A&B the 2nd Thursday at 6:30
p.m. For more information call 931-552-0262.
- Both
Alcoholic Anonymous and Al-Anon
meet at 951 Clark Street. Call 931-647-0225 for meeting times.
- Alzheimer's
Caregivers Support Meets at Clarksville Montgomery
County Public Library, 350 Pageant Lane at 6:30 p.m. on 1st

- Fibromyalgia
Support Group meets at First Church of the Nazarene,
150 Richview Road, at 10 a.m. on 2nd Saturday. For more information

- FOCUS
(Families of Clarksville's Unique Society) is a local
support group for family and friends of special needs children.
Meets at Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library, 350 Pageant

- Grief
& Loss Class: The parish nurses of Grace Lutheran
and Sango United Methodist churches offer a twelve week class
for adults who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Participants
learn about the grief process and how it affects you physically,
emotionally, mentally and spiritually. The class is open to
any adult needing support after the loss of a loved one. There
is no charge for the class, but registration is required. To

- National
Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI): Meets 4th Monday
each month at 7 p.m. at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville
